Not the best of days here. Last night we learned that we had two options after our dossier is translated. The first is to pay the regular fee ($550) and have our dossier processed by the Consulate and sent to Kazakhstan within 60 days. The second is to expedite the process at the Consulate -- this, of course, is done for a fee. They guarantee that the dossier would be on it's way to Kazakhstan within 7-10 days. The fee -- an additional $700. Jack and I agonized over this decision. We would like our new child home as soon as possible, but . . . . well, the additional fee is just beyond us right now.
With this decision comes the knowledge that our new daughter will not be home for Christmas. Our hearts are very heavy tonight!

What a wonderful place to keep track of your family journey! There are so many decision to make in life, but know that all happens for a reason.
