Many Firsts

Thought I'd post about just a few of the many "FIRSTS" Gabi has experienced .......

*Training wheels were put on her bike and she couldn't wait to try it out. After a few trial runs with Jack at her side she was comfortable enough to try it on her own! Cousin Kylie was over for a visit and was kind enough to stay close by as Gabi headed out .......

*She's very excited about beginning dance -- she watched a hip-hop dance class and loved it. The studio recommended that Gabi actually participate in the class to see if her understanding of English will be enough to allow her to follow along with the group. I don't think it's going to be a problem -- she had the upper body moves down while watching.

*Her class went on a field trip to the Symphony and Art Museum. We tried to prepare her for what was happening but I don't think the words translated well or maybe the concept was too hard to understand. When asked how the day was her response was - "music good, bus BAD." Wish we knew exactly what she was thinking but sometimes it's easier to just let it go than to try to get to the bottom of the comment. She was smiling and skipping so it couldn't have been that bad.

*Planting -- Jack was outside working on the yard and decided to transplant some bushes and plants. Gabi pitched right in and helped. She dug holes, carried bushes and GOT DIRTY!!! Not as dirty as her dad but considering she's such a girly-girl Hailee was impressed!

*While at McDonald's she had her first shake! After the initial shock at how cold it was she gave a thumbs up! Hailee, Kylie and Gabi at McDonald's --

*Gabi participated in her FIRST Packer Day at school -- good thing Aunt Nancy chose a PINK Packer shirt because she wasn't too excited about having to wear a green one like Jack has.

*The last FIRST of the night -- learning how to dunk cookies! Jack has been trying to convince her that it's good ... she continually gave him the finger shake and ignored him .... until he bugged her so much she finally gave in ..... even dunking cookies she manages to be a little lady!

Gabi's not the only one experiencing some FIRSTS -- Hailee's also had a few in the past week.

*Hailee scored 7 points at Tuesday's basketball game.

*She also had 4 fouls called against her in that same game. She was worried about her next practice because she said the coach makes you run if you get more than 3. She felt better after hearing how proud Jonathan was of her -- his theory is that you get 5; you may as well use them.

*Hailee is also learning a little of what it means to have a little sister -- they can get a bit annoying at times. Hailee has never liked being called "Hail" -- guess who picked up on that?? Guess who calls "Hail" whenever she needs something? (too funny) And guess who gets the eye roll I thought was reserved for me?????

That's it for now -- stay tuned .... pumpkin farm coming soon!

She sounds so precious. So glad she is settling in well and is home with you guys. Sounds like Haillie is adjusting to having her around well too.

Thinking you need to invest in a tri-pod for the camera. You probably have a bunch of sick followers after that first video.

Thank you for "visiting" recently :) We are doing well. I have started homeschooling our Sierra. So that takes up a lot of time. We are in the midst of our 4th birthmother situation. This one is due on Nov. 11th and has yet to name a family. Our attorney gave her attorney our info. So we are just waiting. I so appreciate reading your updates :) Take care!

Gabi is such a sweetheart. Her English sure is coming along quickly. She sure knows a lot of words when you say them to her!! Sounds like Oksana with the Ketchup conversation. She hated Ketchup and then like a switch it was all of a sudden a basic food group. :) I love Gabi's accent...I hope she keeps it when she does begin speaking more English. Great Job on her bike riding too. Also great job Hailee on all the new things for you too...it sure sounds like you have a definite talent for Basketball! Keep up the good work!
