There have been many times in the past 5 months that I've struggled with figuring out how Gabi feels about me. I know that it's difficult for her, her feelings for Ganka were strong, I understand that. Maybe she is fighting an internal battle .... Ganka was her mom for almost 4 years and now I so desperately want that title for my own. Respecting her space and allowing her the time she needs is important, I know that, it's just not easy!
And then, out of the blue something happens that gives me hope, the hope that someday she will let me in completely .... At dinner on Valentines Day these beautiful handmade cards were waiting next to our plates ....

do you think Hailee or Gabi might be interested in having a Canadian Pen Pal? We are trying to find a creative way for Oksana to practice her English and have been thinking that snail mail might be better for this than email. (she would actually have to use paper that way)
