Happy Halloween

Both Hailee and Gabi have decided that they do not want to trick-or-treat this year. Hailee feels she's too old and Gabi is afraid of all the scary costumes that are out there. We were in the store and she didn't like the masks at all ....

BUT they both wanted to go to the pumpkin farm -- especially Gabi, she was really excited. Last year she had only been here a little over a month and she was not a happy camper while we were there. She remembered how she felt .... she explained that she didn't know what anything was, she was cold and why would anyone want a big orange thing anyway? Makes sense ..... maybe next year she'll understand about trick-or-treat!

Forgot to mention that Hailee's braces are off .... what a beautiful smile she has!!!

Believe it or not the purse was brought out for the trip to the pumpkin farm. And not just any purse .... the velvet one with the fluffies ..... who knows why?????

Not sure if you remember but this pumpkin farm is SO COOL - the scenes are made with pumpkins and are amazing ....

There's even an old-time town with lots of buildings. The doors are open and they are set up as the room would have been years ago. There's a blacksmith, jail, general store and even a school house. The girls loved checking them out.

Gabi took a moment to meet Snow White.
Hailee loved the animals .....

We took a hayride -- there were only a couple others on it so Gabi spread out and posed ... she's so proud of her long hair!
Hard to see behind the fence but it's Alice in Wonderland ....

Another Kodak moment.....

The Old Woman in the Shoe .....

Of course a visit to the pumpkin farm wouldn't be complete without a pumpkin. The girls were quick to decide what they wanted .... Gabi even managed to carry her pumpkin AND her purse for bit. Eventually Dad had to take over.

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Aww. what a great post! I have checked back hoping for a new update but I know how busy everything can get. :) Hailee and Gabi are absolutly beautiful! Hailee and her straight teeth, I remember that feeling of getting my braces off. She looks so happy!

My oh my is Gabi's hair ever getting long, she should be proud of it. Its so beautiful. She and Oksana look a lot alike right now. You know, I have been reading up on US visas and whatnot and I think there might be a way to get Oksana a temporary visa to visit the US. I am going to look into it a bit more but I am hoping that if it all works out that we can come visit next year! (Summer)We are still waiting on her Citizenship to be accepted. Its taking forever.
I love all the pictures you took at the pumpkin patch. We don't have anything like that here but I wish we did. We can either just buy them at a grocery store or grow them ourselves, not nearly as cool. How did they make the bodies of the penguins? They are really cute!
How is Gabi doing in school? Has she made any close friends yet this year? Is Hailee playing basketball again this year?

Hi Catherine,

I thought I'd answer this way, hoping you check the blog again.

The girls finally finished their letters to Oksana -- they will be mailed tomorrow.

Hailee is still doing her basketball, she loves it. They will be finishing up in the next week or so, can't imagine what we'll do with our time. :-)

I've started a post about school -- should be ready to go in the next week.

Catherine, it would be so wonderful to finally meet you in person! My fingers are crossed that it will happen next summer!

Hi Cheryl,
I did re check...I always seem to gravitate to the same blogs. :) We are hoping too to be able to come. Oksana has been hoping to meet Hailee from the second we contacted you and now that Gabi is home she wants to meet her too. She will be so excited to get some letters in the mail but I won't tell her until they are here. :) Thanks for the message and can't wait for the next update.
Hope to hear from you again soon!!
