Easter in June????

I uploaded these pictures quite a while back and promptly forgot about them. Hoping to get better at updating -- school will be out soon and we'll actually have some FREE time (I hope).

The girls dyed a couple dozen eggs -- Gabi could not remember doing this last year. We actually went back in the blog to show her that she did. It's interesting how many holidays and traditions that she doesn't remember happening in her first year. I bet she remembers next year .....

We drove to Indiana to spend the holiday with Jonathan. It was bittersweet -- wonderful to be able to spend the holiday with them, but missed Lisa very much. She did drive to Ocala to spend the day with Gin & Bob which helped us to feel better, she wasn't alone.

The girls have so much fun with Hayden & Jackson --

Hayden hadn't dyed eggs yet so were able to watch ... he was so proud of all the eggs he did. Weren't they beautiful???

Easter Sunday we woke early and headed to church. The girls were instructed not to "Look" around just in case the rabbit had come but Hayden noticed everything. The rabbit had been there and left eggs "everywhere."

We enjoyed Jonathan and Amanda's church a lot. It's very contemporary, had a band playing and lots of singing. Gabi loved it, she said it reminded her of the church in Bulgaria. She was standing and swaying during every song.

After church we headed back to the house and took a lot of pictures before the egg hunt began. Notice anything unusual on the mantle????

And then we let the kids run -- it was so much fun watching them run around looking everywhere for over 150 eggs ....... Hayden had his arms full.

Taking a break to check out what's in some of the eggs before heading off to find more.

Gabi love, love, loved finding eggs -- well, at least until it got harder. This face was to let everyone know that she wasn't finding them as quickly as before. Lots of warm, cold, hot hints had to be given for her to continue.

Even Jackson found an egg .....

Eventually they found their baskets. The rabbit found some very good hiding spots. Hayden's favorite present from the bunny ... a box of skittles.

Gabi was very excited to find a HUGE roll of smarties. When we came to visit her in Bulgaria we brought a bag of the small rolls of smarties. She told me that she loved them the most. Wonder where the rabbit found a gigantic roll of them. She was in heaven.

Hailee found her basket last -- we were really beginning to wonder if the rabbit had forgotten her.

It wouldn't be a holiday without a little sisterly love ..... seriously though, both Jack and I are amazed at how well the girls get along. Even though they are very different young ladies we rarely have squabbles or tiffs. Maybe that will change in time but I don't know.....

Checking out the stash --

Later in the day we enjoyed an amazing dinner. Amanda wanted to try making prime rib -- it was absolutely delicious!!! The only one that didn't have much of an appetite was Hayden .... can't imagine why, can you?

After dinner we headed home -- we had a wonderful Easter. Thank you Jonathan and Amanda!!!

Wonderful pictures, wonderful post! It sure looks like you had a great time visiting over Easter! Oh my how many eggs there were! The picture of "The Stash" amazed me. :) I am glad the girls get along so well, I know that Oksana will love to hang out with them both one day. (Hopefully soon) I know this is a short comment but I wanted to let you know that Oksana does have another letter for Hailee and Gabi and wanted to put something extra in the package...now we are not sure if we can send it yet because of the postal worker strike. :( I will find out in the morning and if I can send it off I will. Also, in the letter Oksana wrote to Gabi I think she was talking about homeschooling. LOL we have been using that as a way to get her to stop fooling around in class so often and listen to her teacher. She would hate sitting at the table with me all day long doing school work. LOL. We wouldn't really do that to her because the social setting of school helps her so much. Can you explain that to Gabi?! Its been working wonders though and even Oksanas teacher has commented that since we've had the "homeschooling" conversation, Oksana is a lot more focused and determined to 'stay in school.' LOL. Too funny. Anyway...I miss our chats too, we should really write or email more. Hmm...
