First Day of School

Hailee started High School this year and she was very excited .... and for the strangest reason.  She could wear her shorts to school even though they were short.  The middle school has a rule that shorts and skirts can't be shorter than your fingertips when your arms are at your sides.  No rules at high school so she broke out the shorts.  :-)

Gabi started 6th grade .... she was pretty nervous.  We had open house the night before the first day and it didn't go well.  She realized that she would be switching classes and have several teachers.  She thought it was going to be like 5th grade where you always end up back with one person.  As we were talking with her Math & Science teacher you could see her face change -- suddenly her eyes filled with tears that she tried to hold back.  She couldn't and they slid silently down her cheeks.  Poor sweetie!

I have to say the teachers were awesome .... they reassured her that they would watch for her and help.  I'm happy to report that they did just that and now that we're a few weeks into school Gabi has adjusted and can't remember why she was so scared. 

We're off to a great start, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss those homework free days of summer.
