We have Flights!

One thing off the list ...... our flight reservations are made.

Hailee and I will leave for Bulgaria at noon on Saturday, September 5th and will return on Wednesday, September 16th at 4:30 p.m. We're flying Northwest -- hoping for much better flights than the Lufthansa flights Jack & I took in May.

Some of the items on my list are:

  • present for Ganka - what do you think about a cross necklace (she's very religious) -- maybe black hills gold since it's something I don't think she can get in Bulgaria?
  • travel insurance for Hailee & I
  • shop for Dori (thought a gift from Gabi) - she loves dolls - thinking baby doll and bottles with the disappearing liquid - or????
  • gifts for translators, social worker & daughter, driver, lawyer & daughter etc.
  • find things to keep Hailee & Gabriela busy while in the apartment & on the planes -- ideas????
  • load music for Gabriela & Hailee
  • get appointments scheduled for Gabriela
  • and on & on & on ......

I know it will all get done .... it always does, but ..... can't help stressing a little.

I would love it if could keep track of what you have to do and what you took so when we and others travel it would be a huge help. So happy for you guys to be travelling soon.

We are so excited for you to be on your way soon...it won't be long and Gabi will be home with you for good. :) I think your idea about a gift for Dori is great and also for Ganka. For things for the girls to do in the apartment and on the way home...
maybe travel games of "Guess who", "Connect 4". "Sorry", "Trouble" or "Snakes and ladders" As travel versions take up less space in luggage.
Maybe a book about "Oragami" paper folding or something similar.
Maybe a few 3D plastic puzzles, or "3D Tetris" block puzzles you can buy them at some bookstores or toys "r" us.
Gabi might enjoy a book or two of Crayola "Color wonder" and markers for the plane if she hasn't seen anything like that before.
She seems very smart, what about some easy word searches to learn more English words that Hailee can help her with. Just some ideas...Can't wait to hear how the travel plans, packing are coming. I'll bet Hailee is getting really excited...will she have to do any homework while she is travelling? Has school started already there? It starts here on Aug 31st.
