Schedule in Bulgaria

Want to know what Hailee & I will be doing in Bulgaria? Well here goes:
  • Begin our journey to Bulgaria on Saturday, September 5th at noon.
  • Arrive Sunday the 6th at 2:30 p.m. (Bulgarian time) -- about 8:00 a.m. our time -- sleep will be a priority ....
  • Monday, September 7th - GO GET GABRIELA from Razgrad. (yay, woo-hoo, finally, finally, finally) Had hoped to stay overnight there because it's a 5-6 hour car ride one way, but it's not going to happen -- we have to be back on Tuesday -- if we're not there the trip will be extended another day. So, they say that we will stay for a few hours and then make the return trip to Sophia.
  • Tuesday the 8th - go to passport services and submit the paperwork for Gabi's passport - it will take 3 days for the passport to be processed and issued. Previously the agency in Bulgaria could do this for the child -- now passport services want the parent to bring the child in.
  • Wednesday the 9th - waiting for passport processing - free day
  • Thursday the 10th - waiting for passport processing - free day
  • Friday the 11th - go to a licensed clinic near the US Embassy for Gabi's medical exam -- it is required.
  • Saturday the 12th - free day
  • Sunday the 13th - free day
  • Monday the 14th - VISA interview in the US Embassy
  • Tuesday the 15th - wait for paperwork -- basically another free day
  • Wednesday the 16th - begin the long journey home. - leaving at 7 a.m. (Bulgarian time) -- will be landing at home at 4:30 p.m., it doesn't sound like a long time but .... the 3 of us will be traveling about 19 hours ......

Normally this trip would be 8 days but since the US Embassy could not do our interview on Friday it extends our trip by 2 days.

We have been told that Rossi will be our translator -- she wrote that she will take us to the large grocery store and to some souvenier shops. She is also planning to show us a few parks where we can spend some of our free time - that will be wonderful because it looks like we will have quite a bit of that. :-)

Things are coming together ......

Just a few short days. Sounds like everything is coming together nicely. Wow...you are going to be so sick of traveling, you won't want to go on vacation again.

Thanks for the itinerary!

What, you didn't get your nails done too????

I hope you are getting around easily and have become comfortable with your surroundings.

Hi Girls!
I am glad Hailee went with you, she appears to be doing the "Big Sis" gig fabulously!
Cheryl, from the sound of things maybe you should consider the red hair dye attitude... can't believe anyone would give YOU this much grief! Do they know who you are?! Once you are back home you will be treated with the awe-inspired respect you are worthy of!
Haven't heard from Hailee... HW?
Hope you 3 are home soon!
