Little Bit of News

Just a little update. We've been working on getting everything together. Our homestudy is being updated to reflect our trip to Kazakhstan and our change to Bulgaria -- that has to be done before we can extend our I-171 (which is the paper allowing us to bring a child into the USA). We're waiting for the letters from our doctors saying we're healthy. Have completed paperwork for our child abuse clearance and to the police departments for verification that we're not criminals. For now that's all we can do.

We've also applied for a small grant, actually received a letter telling us we've been approved which was exciting but than learned that the organization does not have money at this time so they can't help us. Ughhhh.......we'll keep trying - if anyone knows of places offering any type of assistance please let us know.

Will end this post on a high ..... here's a few pictures of our week with the family. It was wonderful to spend time together.

Here's Hailee and Hayden. For someone who wasn't too excited about being called Auntie, she's sure loving it now. She's going to be a great babysitter in a few years!

And Micah, Lisa & Hailee in front of Paul Bunyans

Lisa bought the girls matching PJ's -- Micah & Hailee modeled them for us.

Jonathan, Amanda, Hayden and Grandma Ollmann enjoyed a visit during breakfast

Jack, I and Hayden - he loved playing in the tube. He didn't get to play too long though, the older kids wanted to do some tubing.

Isn't he just the cutest???

I am so glad to see that you all had a wonderful time. I'm sure Hayden is looking forward to many more family vacations....Like maybe a Komoll-Ollmann vacation!!!

Looking for grants...
when we were in process I searched and searched for grants to apply for. In the end Gift of Adoption was going to give us a grant but could not do it before we were being told we would have to travel to Kazakhstan. We ended up borrowing from family (which is never a good idea).

anyway... when I was searching I came across a couple of grants that are not on all the lists that you find everywhere. They were actually local grants that could only be granted to residents of our state or county. Do a google search using your state, your city and your county along with "adoption grants" "adoption financial assistance" "adoption fund" or any other combination you can think of. This will bring up some little known grants and therefor there will be less people applying for them.

Good luck!

Hayden sure is a cutie! Can't believe vacation's come and gone already and we're already in the process of getting ready for back to school. :( Would much rather turn back the clocks and vacation again. :)
