Yippee ....... WooHoo ....... Finally, finally, finally our homestudy has been updated and we sent it by Fed Ex to the Immigration Services. This is the major step we've been waiting for! We're hoping that they are able to process our request for the change in country quickly so we can get the dossier to our agency SOON!
We've crossed our fingers that Immigration Services(IS) will honor the fingerprinting we had done about a year ago for the approval to travel to Kazakhstan. If they don't they will schedule us in downtown and we'll have to go there to have the biometric fingerprinting done again - of course that would delay things again. If IS would decide to honor the prints we have on file we know we'll have to repeat them before we'd travel to Bulgaria, but at least we'd be able to get our dossier in country to start that process.
Have to let you know that we're the proud owners of a nifty little certificate saying we're now qualified to parent an internationally adopted child because we've completed our classes. (must add that we received an A in every class . . . we owe our success to Hailee; she taught us well!)
During the past couple weeks we asked the Caledonia Police Dept. to take our fingerprints so we could send them to the FBI requesting verification that we're not criminals -- we're waiting on the return of those also.
You know sometimes it seems that we're moving forward ........... sometimes it seems that things are not .......... amazingly no matter what/where we are in the process we continue to have faith that we're doing the right thing. We just can't help but wish it would happen a LOT QUICKER! Thanks for hanging in there with us!!!

Thanks for the update. We've been thinking about your journey and hoping it is going well. :)
A big woo-hoo—updated home study. That's big. You're getting there. Now let's hope your fingerprints hold up, so you can get your dossier to Portland sooner rather than later. Very excited for you!!!
