On Friday we received an e-mail telling us that there was a change in Kazakhstan and they needed another paper notarized and apostilled and sent to them. That paper was retyped and notarized in a couple hours -- we then sent it to Madison for the apostille . . . . hopefully the agency received the paper today . . . or Monday at the latest. This paper seems to be the key because . . . .
We heard from a family that had their dossier in a short time before us and their paperwork has moved on to Uralsk. They happen to live within a short distance of the state dept. that apostille's papers so they were able to mail their new paperwork to the agency the next day.
We hope we're getting one step closer to leaving to pick up our new daughter.
New News --- we have a foster child living with us right now. She is a young lady who goes to school at East. She was in need of a family for a few weeks and the courts were hoping to have her continue at the same school. Since we have all the clearances, homestudy and everything else needed to foster a child we volunteered to take her in. Her name is Micah, she's 12 (almost 13) and seems to fit right in. At this time she & Hailee are laughing up a storm playing ping pong in the basement. If this is any indication of how life will be with another child in our home -- it's a good thing!
