We received all of the information on our referral of Miss Gabriela this morning. Bulgaria gives you so much information that it's almost overwhelming. Kazakhstan supplied only a brief summary for each child. We receieved 5 typed pages of information about her and one (yes, just one) picture.
She's a dark haired, dark eyed beauty who was born in 1999 -- she'll be turning 10 years old on June 30th. I wish we could post her picture so everyone could see her, but at this time we cannot.
Gabriela weighs 58lbs. and is 4 ft. 3" tall as of Feb. 17th -- we're thinking that's even tinier than Vika was. Size of clothes anyone?
From the information received we do know that she is blind in one eye and wears glasses. There is a lot of "technical" information about this in the referral so we've made a few phone calls and hope to have a better understanding of what all the numbers and medical terms mean. We've tried the internet but only managed to confuse ourselves more. We know that sometimes things don't translate exactly as they were meant.
Some of the social information contradicts itself from paragraph to paragraph ... in one spot it says she's reserved and introverted -- and then later it states that she's an open and smiling child. These type of statements happen throughout the document but in my mind this is true of any child depending on the situation.
Because we have such a great quantity of information we are considering using a service that the International Adoption Clinic at Children's Hospital offers -- they will review all the information we have and give us an assessment.
So much to think about ..... She's definitely pulling at our heart strings!

Hey! Great to hear about the referral!!! I hope that all your questions will be answered soon! About the sizes, Oksana is 48lbs, a little over 4 feet tall and wearing a size 7/8 pants, 6/7 and 7/8 Shirts. Her shoes are a size 1.
The pants Oksana wears very often have to be worn with a belt or they end up around her ankles. I hope that helps with sizes. How is Hailee feeling about the whole thing so far? The referral, her "possible" new sister...etc. Can't wait to hear more! I will email you more too.
Finally!!! Wow June 30th - Same as Kenda. How cool. I would definitely use the help of the International Adoption Clinic. You need to made the most informed decision you can.
Prayers will continue!
OOOOhhhhh...I have goose bumps right now. I'm so excited for you, Jack and Hailee. Can't wait to hear more.
