Just One E-mail Needed

That's all we need -- just one e-mail to the US Embassy in Sofia stating that we have been approved and Gabriela can come home with us ....

Can we get that ... NO!

Our Social Worker knows the man at the Milwaukee Immigration office so a call was placed -- he said they e-mailed the information to the National Visa Center (NVC) and gave the certification number stating it was done. Jack then called the NVC for the 3rd time armed with the certification number & date the paper was sent -- they say they checked through all the September paperwork and do not have the paper and couldn't care less about the certification number. WHAT is going on here?????

By this time Jack had enough --- a call was placed to Congressmann Paul Ryan's office where Jack learned he had to complete paperwork and give them permission to check into this on our behalf. This has been done -- Jack also heard from State Representative, Mark Honadel (thanks Bruce & Donna) -- he knows the lady in Ryan's office so he's going to call her today.

In the meantime .... Rossi arrived in our apartment bright and early this morning with the pin # for the phone (now we can explore without worrying about getting lost and not being able to call anyone) and a phone number for the US Embassy in Sofia. I called them to explain what we've done and to see what else we can do. The gentlemen I talked to was very kind and gave me their direct fax line and his e-mail address -- IF Milwaukee Immigration would be willing to send them the Cable 37 Visa letter it would be acceptable to them. The key word is IF.

What does all this mean to us? Basically we're stuck .... the exit medical exam cannot be done yet nor can the exit interview be scheduled until the paperwork is complete .... Rossi assured me that it can all be scheduled quickly. She said the Embassy works on Friday but will not schedule exit interviews that day so the Cable could be received as late as then.

Wish that I understood what the big deal is here .... why can't the information be e-mailed or faxed AGAIN????? It doesn't seem like a big enough deal to have to involve Congressmen, State Reps, etc. It's a simple thing .....

I think we know have the answer to the question of why we were scheduled for 2 extra days in Bulgaria ..... it's all part of the bigger plan ..........

Will update later about our day......

Before I go I just want to thank my wonderful husband for all he's doing to try to fix this mess, he's way out of his comfort zone .... but he's doing great!!! Thanks to everyone else involved too! And please, you lurkers -- comment, comment, comment -- really need to hear from you!!!

Doesn't sound like the guy at the NVC is willing to go the extra mile. I can't see why the Milwaukee Immigration office wouldn't be willing to e-mail the information again. It sounds like a very simple request. I feel so bad that all this extra worry is being heaped on you right now. This should just be a happy time. Although I'm sure you are enjoying having Gabi with you. With all these people on your team trying to get this done, I'm sure it will be very soon. Sure wish there was something I could do, but it sounds like you've tapped a lot of good contacts. But if there is anything you would like me to do for you...anything at all...please let me know.

I'm here for you girlfriend!

Always in my prayers.

Love ya,
Linda

Hi Cheryl and girls
I hope this was your last bad day.
We are all behind and thinking of all three of you.
Hailee I think you have a beautiful little sister( you already have a beautiful older sister) and if she likes to be a girly girl I think you can handle it. You might beable to talk her into country music and horses while she plays with her dolls.
Is the weather cold I see the girls both have jackets on in the apartment pictures the forcast says it is in the 60's is that right?
Not much going on around here just waiting for the three of you to come home.

Hi Girls,

I am at Stacy's and have an opportunity to write, so here I am. So sorry to hear of all your stressful things going on. I am so proud of all of you. I know I wouldn't be able to do what you are going through. Also Jack is so cool headed (really). We are all praying and pulling for you to hear the best news soon. How is Gabi doing? Learning any English from Hailee yet? I hope you are having time to have some fun adventures with the girls.

Things are good here, saw your dad and he looked good. I washed his eye glasses for him and he gave me a smile. Mom is okay. Not much else going on. The guys are getting ready for fishing, hoping the rain holds off till Sunday.

Thats all for now. Take care and sending all our love and prayers. Will be thinking of you all, and can't wait to come and see you at the airport.

Love,

Brian and Pat

Hello from the USA
Hope you are having a better day and that things get resolved immediately! Miss you here at school. Hailee, I spoke to Mrs. Potter and she is getting some more homework ready for you, just kidding! Hope you both are enjoying your time with Gabi. Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're having problems AGAIN! Unbelieveable! I know you said you were worried about going just you and Hailee but it's a good thing that Jack's here in Milwaukee and can pull whatever strings he can here to try to solve the problem. Just know that I'm thinking of you and hoping this problem gets cleared up quickly. Hang in there! Try to relax (yeah, right) and enjoy your time with your girls.

Hi to Cheryl, Hailey, and Gabi,

Don't worry about me wanting your job. Everything is fine here and trying to get things done before you return. Everything will work out and you will be home soon. Finally got sign ons and passwords so can actually do something. Amy and Mary have been a great help. Will stop in to see you when I return.

I'm so sorry to hear that things once again are not working out as planned. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be. I don't understand why it is so difficult to give a wonderful girl an amazing family and a world of opportunties. Keep up the fight, keep your strength, and never give up HOPE. When you think everything is falling apart and someone is out to get you (my mom and I have discussed God's "difficult to understand" 'sense of humor' - if we want to call it that - many times, so I understand what you were saying about that), please remember that you need to keep your eye on the light at the end of the long, dark, and difficult tunnel and that light is Gabi. When this is all resolved, it will make everything you have so much more valuable and precious to you. I wish I had the right words to say to make you feel better because I can't imagine what it feels like to be your shoes right now, but just know you have TONS of support and positive vibes and prayers going out to you and your family. Please continue to keep us posted and continue to journal...it's a good release for you as well.
Thinking of you lots,
Briana Kramer

P.S.--Hailey did look very cute traveling. I'm glad she's with you for support, too.

Hi Mom, Hailee, and Gabi!

It was so good to hear your voice this morning Mom, and yes I must have ESP as I knew the right time to call to avoid an IPOD disaster for Hailee..glad its taken care of!

Just wanted to let you know that I took care of booking Hailees dental appointment, & was even able to squeeze Gabi in on Oct 30th when they are off of school for her dental appointment as well.

Cant wait to read more about your adventures in Bulgaria, after this is all done and you are back here, you should consider writing a novel about your adventures in international adoption!

All my Love,
Lisa
