Monday's Visit

It is already Monday late afternoon here and we've had a busy day.

We've started getting a bit daring trying things -- breakfast this morning was interesting. Jack's a breakfast person and he's been missing that a lot so we decided to try something new. We made an omelette of sorts -- we had bought some type of sausage (shaped like summer sausage, but tastes sort of like bologna) that we cut up & added a white, holey (not swiss) cheese that we had and it was actually pretty good. Or maybe we're really getting desperate .......... either way we ate it!

Yerlan picked us up promptly at 9:40 and we headed to the orphanage. When we got there the group we needed were out to the dr. for a checkup --- we finally started our visit an hour late. But . . . . it was a nice visit. Yulia was with us and that woman works wonders -- her warmth and caring shows. Although the young girl was afraid she was smiling (which both Jack & I agree is a million-dollar smile) . . . . we took her to the store. Hailee took her hand and we were off -- it was a lot of fun. Toward the end of the shopping trip Yulia told me to hold out my hand and see if she would take it -- she did! Success .......... it feels good!

Yulia had hoped we could visit late this afternoon but she attends school from 2-6 p.m.; dinner for her is at 6:30 and the director felt it might be too late for her. So tomorrow at 10 is when we'll see her again.

Tomorrow we hope to get some pictures and post more information .....

As Yulia would say ---- today was a good day!!!

I'm so happy for you that things are going well! The fact that she took your hand is definitely a good sign. I also think it helps that Hailee is there and the two can run off together at the store to look at things together. I'm sure it puts the girl at ease to have another girl her age to bond with. I will be praying that things continue to go well! It sounds like Yulia and the other people you're working with are very good people!
I'll be hoping and praying that things continue to go well!

Good morning.
This part is for Jack. As you probably know opening of fishing was a bust.
Cold rain and when it stopped raining 60 mile an hour winds which is how Bob described the weather. Being the Flordian he is now he and Steve (who was in bed sleeping after working all night)thought they would wait and go Monday morning, so I will write and let you know what the didnt get but almost had tomorrow morning. I think you heard Bob complaining about the weather on Saturday all the was to Russia.
Hailee we still dont have any frogs on the shore line yet so the nets are still in the shed waiting for you and your sister to come and use them with Payton. Hugs to you honey and little belly pinch too.
Cheryl what can I say you are the rock of the family without you we would all be floundering around with what you and Jack and Hailee have been thru.We and only hope and pray that everything will be worth it in the final days.
BIG hugs to all of you.
Yesterday was Lindsays confirmation she looked so grown up in her gown and beautiful dress and shoes that were so high. She is growning up as all the girls are (you too Hailee) I am sure they are all taller than Cheryl which is not hard.
Bye for now

Hi to all,
Glad to see you had a "GOOD DAY" Monday. Can't wait to see how Tuesday goes!
We had a nice weekend, Dan was over yesterday. I worked mostly on the kitchen while Ken mowed the lawn for the first time. Everything is so green...well everything that isn't underwater. Actually, it makes me feel like we are living on a lake property and seeing as this is as close as I'm ever going to get to living on a lake, I guess I should just enjoy it.
Tonight is Monica's grandma Molly's funeral. It is also the open house at Norah's gym class. Monica doesn't want her to miss the special day, so we are going to take her to that after our visitation. She has been telling me for weeks now that PaPa and I can come on May 5th to see her. She gave me a little preview of the things that she does at gym and it looked so cute. Can't wait to see her with the rest of the little ones.
Love & Hugs,
Linda

You're right--Yulia does work wonders. Are you visiting the preschool where Garrett is from? If so, I'm surprised the orphanage director allowed you to take the girl to the store with you. We weren't even allowed to go outside, let alone take pictures. I pray this girl is your daughter. Does she get a say so in the decision like the older girls or is she considered too young to do that?

It's so funny to read that Yerlan is your driver and Luba is your translator. And that you're staying in "our" apartment. Tell everyone that Garrett is doing well and we say hi.

Good Evening Everyone,

I have just come in for the day, I was at the Tomczak's in WFB all day. Took care of the kids, Sadie is sick again. Poor little thing. She didn't want to drink her bottles much, ate her cereal okay though. After giving her Tylenol she was better for awhile. It is Brett's birthday, and we stayed for a yummy super of gourmet burgers from Sendiks. Soon Jack, soon. Ben helped make a cake, it was good too. Brian is taking Flo home, so he too will hit the chair as soon as he is able.
I called the couch before we left Brett's. So not much going on here today. Thanks for the updates, it was nice to read Hailee's also. Hope she is doing well. We will wait until she is home to do birthday shopping for her, I'm sure she might need some new summer clothes. We can take our new niece along and get her a few things too. Sending all our love and support to you all. Have a great day. Love from us both.

Shopping...did someone say shopping? You know I'm always up for a day of shopping. :) Of course I'll have to tag along to help the girls pick out some cute summer clothes. Hailee, we all know how much you love shopping, right?

So glad to hear you had a good day. Hopefully tomorrow is just as good, if not even better.
We'll be checking for an update first thing tomorrow AM. :)

Glad to hear things went well! It sounds like this might be the one, but only time will tell for sure.

I hope your next visit is just as great for you!

Things at home have been very busy with work and playing catch-up every chance I get. It's been 50+ work hour weeks for me lately. Hopefully that will change soon though!

Noah (our puppy) is turning 1 today. He'll always be our puppy though... Lucy still is and she's 3 now!

Take care. We all miss you and can't wait for you to return home with your new daughter! :)

Love, Nicole
