Sorry for the late post! It's been one of the those days -- in a good way. Almost felt like we were home and had work, than appointments or sports - you know committment after committment day. For us it was FUN!
Special note -- we have changed her name spelling (the paperwork was processed with Viktoria) so we've decided to leave it and spell it that way. This works out great because today when Viktoria signed the picture she colored she spelled her name "VIKA."
We started the day early with our visit. We didn't have a full hour today because of the tests that Vika needed. We had bought a sticker book (coloring & some stickers) at the market and Vika and Hailee had a great time putting the stickers on. We think Vika might be a bit of a perfectionist because everything had to line up perfectly or she took it off and put it on again. We had noticed this before when she continually dusted off the frisbie while we were playing. I'm thinking that maybe she will have her drawers and closet in perfect order -- that would be nice!
Tomorrow we get to take her to the photographer for her visa & passport pictures. Looking forward to getting her out again. We're hoping to be able to sneak in a few pictures too!
Today we had our 10th visit -- 5 more to go before the papers can be processed. It's getitng closer. We did talk with Yulia and she said that they feel that Jack should be able to come home around the 27th of May. We'll keep you posted on that.
After our visit we went to the outdoor market again -- I think we might be getting addicted. It's just so much fun. We found a few things that we liked and are having a great time "trying" to get the right sizes or the right colors. Sometimes the people are so much fun to "talk" with. An older lady today was great fun -- we were trying to describe what we wanted with hand gestures and she'd shake her head & act out something -- we went back & forth like this for quite awhile. We did end up purchasing two itmes from her -- she was laughing hard as we left (hopefully not at us) and she kept calling out to the booth we went to next and telling them something and than she'd start laughing again. I'm not sure if she was warning them or enjoying our charades.
About 4 we had an appointment with Yulia and Nastya to sign all the paperwork for court and for Astana. This makes the end of the trip seem closer, although we know we've got a lot to do yet.
The end of our day was spent with the Nelson's and Nathan & Cynthia. It's Shannyshells birthday today so we met at Pizza Hot (yes HOT, not Hut). I know it's pizza again Jonathan, but it was Shannyshell's choice. The Marguerita pizza which is normally cheese was NOT (is that out of the box Jonathan) -- it was mushroom, onion, some type of sausage & heaven knows what else. (lots of picking stuff off on Jack's part) Afterwards we had cake & singing at the Nelson's -- was a fun time -- almost felt like a home party only a LOT less crowded!
Another good day!

I am so enjoying your posts, I look forward to them every day!!! It is getting closer. Vika's coloring is so much like Carla's, it amazes me!! She is a beautiful girl. You all are doing great, baby steps lead to the end!!! Kathy
Kathy, I'm so glad to hear from you -- Jack & I were just talking about you and Carla & Eric. Going down memory lane -- talking about the changes, etc. Thanks for the encouragement! How are Carla & Eric doing?
I always get a little nervous when you post late, but when it's for a good thing like a "WONDERFUL DAY" than I'm all for it!
I just love her name, Vika, it is just so special. Just like she will be. She doesn't really know it yet, but she is one lucky little lady.
Yesterday was Steve's birthday and they went with some friends to the Brewer game, (They won!) and I got to sit with the kids. We had a grand time. Benjamin is so cute now and just loves to play "Hide and Seek". He is very quiet when he hides, unlike Norah, who has to make noises the entire time.(must be a girl thing) They had been at the zoo for the day with Monica so Benjamin was tired and went down around 7:30. Than Norah and I played Dora Chutes and Ladders (she won) and worked on puzzles. All in all, I had a wonderful evening.
Hope tomorrow is a wonderful!
Till then...
Hugs and Kisses to all!
Linda
Hey Neighbors,
We miss you. So glad to hear things are working for you. Not too much new around here. I think about you often. Cheryl, Happy Mothers Day a couple of days late.
Steve, Mary and the kids
Hi All,
Tues.eve here, kids just left, Jake had a LL game and they didn't want to go. They should have, some warmer breezes tonight and their friends were looking for them. Oh well, Kylie had a bath here, I am having trouble getting hot enough water in the tub, so I had to boil water to get it warm enough for her. I felt like I was back at the old cottage with the pump! Brian and I tried to fix this once before, now again. We;ll have to have this checked out. Brians mom was at the dr for blood work, she is still weak from this flu bug this weekend. I also had to take Jake for warts, poor kid. It really hurt him. He tried real hard to be brave, but I could see how hard it was for him. I bribed him with 10.00 to not cry, and he did a great job. I cried because I knew how much it was hurting. We were close to Brett's new office so we went to see him, and went to lunch at La Fuents' for mexican food. Yummy!! Then the rest of the day just went somewhere, time flies. Brian is at the Brewers game tonight. Some new sales people in town. Tomorrow will be less running, just grocery shopping with Flo and seeing mom.
Good to hear everything is going well. Each day you post brings more smiles here. Keep it going. I like the way Vika is spelling her name. Did that just happen? or was it planned? Well I am really tired and time to hit the couch. Will talk again soon. Sending our prayers and hugs....
As you can tell from mom's post, we were at little league again tonight. Just got home. Thank goodness for mom...don't know what we'd do without her. :) It's been really, really chilly at little league, due to the wind. Thursday night is the first night game under lights, which will be fun. It's a late one though...doesn't start until 7:30, which is okay, 'cuz Kylie's got dance until 7:30. Jake's team won tonight. They looked pretty good. It was nice to see a win, as they got smoked on Saturday, 17-3. YIKES! Not too much else going on here. Work, laundry, bills, practices, games, etc., etc. Can't wait for 22 more school days. I'm definitely ready to be home with the kiddos for summer vacation. I know my mom's ready for me to be off too. Her vacation (from her taxi cab/babysitting jobs) will begin then. :)
Well, Jake & Steve just walked in and we've gotta get Kylie and Trev to bed.
Have a wonderful, terrific, fabulous visit with Vika tomorrow. Give her hugs from us. Give Hailee a hug from us too. We're missing you all!!!
Hello Ollmann family!
I had a lot of catching up to do and was so estatic to read the good news! Vika is beautiful and Hailee, you look like a very proud big sister! I could not be happier for all of you!
Hailee, the school year is quickly coming to an end. I know we still have one month left but it is going by so fast!! We are still reading Sarah, Plain and Tall in guided reading. Today and tomorrow 5th grade is on a field trip (I can't remember where!!). On Friday they will be taking a test on the ecosystem and on Tuesday is possibly a test on measurement: standard and metric! They also have been learning how to write resumes and will be working on making their own in the lab this week.
The auction is this Saturday and I'm excited to be a part of it! My mom and dad, kids and husband, and brother and neice will be coming too. Almost all of the chairs that were painted are on the website right now. Check them out at: www.oakcreek.k12.wi.us/mv
Well, that's about all going on. I loved reading the blog entry that you wrote! It was awesome seeing all the pictures too!
Love,
Mrs. Hochschild
