We spent over an hour with Vika's aunt and her best friend. There were many questions that we tried to answer as best we could. According to them the aunt was looking for Vika, but the mother did not tell her that she had lost custody of her. She said the mother said she was at school or away -- on Memory Day last week she met the mother in the cemetary. At that time Vika's mom told her what had happened.
Initially the aunt was going to take Vika but after talking with Natalya and Yulia she decided to meet us and see what kind of people we were. Upon leaving us she said that she will be meeting with Vika tomorrow and would ask her if she wanted to go with us or live with her. If Vika wants to come with us she will not stop it, nor will she pressure Vika, this she promised to Natalya.
So we wait .............

Oh my, once again my heart is breaking for your all. Hopefully the love that Vika already has for you will show her the path to take.
I will wait and pray with you.
Love you so much,
Linda
It will work out. God has a plan and I know she is perfect for our family. We miss you guys and you are in our prayers every day. Love and Miss you all,
Amanda, Jon, and Hayden
P.s. Hayden says hurry home(well it sounds like ooh hhaa ooh, but I translated). We can't wait for July!
All around us are prayers for all of you. There is nothing I can say to help, know that we are all here for you, wish we were closer, we love and support you. May the Lord bring all four of you through this together and home to all of us. Love and hugs.....
There simply are no words at a time like this. I'm sure the waiting is agonizing. What a decision to be left in the hands of a ten-year old. I can tell by the pictures that Vika knows you love her and that she loves you too. I hope and pray that God will direct her your way. I don't know any family that could give her the love and care that you three can provide. Plus, Vika will have a loving big sister in Hailee and I think that is something that she is already really enjoying.
Love, hugs, prayers, and all that good stuff is being sent your way!
By the way, I would very much like to see some video footage of you guys doing some of your charades. Cheryl, we really need some of your charades that we can show sometime at a faculty meeting or possibly your retirement party. I don't want to brag or anything but I do a really good imitation of a mushroom. Just ask Stacy, she's seen it and I think she'll attest that she's never seen a better mushroom impersonation ever! Actually, I look rather ridiculous but we did get mushrooms on our pizza somehow and we got a lot of laughs from the waitstaff and the other people in the restaurant. I actually have quite the reputation - I've been laughed at in quite a few countries for my awesome charades. We'll have to compare strategies : ) Also, please make sure that you continue to change - you know what I mean : )
Sorry for being silly - you know I always joke when I don't know what else to do. Hope I made you smile a little.
Take care and I hope and pray that things will all turn out.
Take good care,
Ann Duquaine AKA the mushroom
Hi Guys,
I dont know what to say..my heart is in my throat, and all I can do is hope and pray that when her Aunt talks to Vika, she will let her know how much you guys love her, and I am hoping beyond anything else that she is going to choose us. I spoke with Uncle Kevin today, he is thinking about you as is Grandma Nancy! Love You guys all..I am hoping that this i the last hurdle that you have to jump over before bringing her home.
Love Always, Lisa
I just gasped when I got to the end of your last entry. This is unbelievable! I will pray for you guys.
Hailee, I'm excited to see your new ring! What does it look like? I got a new ring too...I'll show you when you come home.
Love,
Mrs. Hochschild
We're all waiting and praying, praying, praying that Vika is able to see what she will have here, with you. Looking forward to hearing from you soon, with good news!!
It's 9:15 a.m. by you now...11:15 p.m. here. The girls just left..we wrapped scrappin' up early tonight 'cuz everybody's kiddos have early baseball games and/or pictures.
