The Park

First things first -- today is Lisa‘s birthday so we need to take a moment to say -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA!!! (we won’t tell your age) We are missing you so much and hope that you have a wonderful day today! Can’t wait to get home and celebrate with you. We'll be giving you a call a little later this morning. Didn't want to get you up too early on a Saturday!

The weather is in the 70's here and sunny -- a beautiful day to go to the park. When we arrived at the orphanage Veeka came down in her new outfit, sandals and her hair was braided to cute. She was excited for her first visit to the park and we could tell she dressed especially for us. (TOO CUTE)

Veeka had never been on the monkey bars so Jack boosted her up (he says she's about 50 lbs.) and she smiled the whole time. She made it all the way across with his help and was pretty proud of herself. Hailee was the perfect big sister -- when Veeka got to the end she was clapping for her.

The four of us. We tried to get as many pictures as we could, this is one of our favorites.

When the girls saw this "old man" as Luba called him they wanted a picture with
him. Later we learned this was Father Christmas - Hailee thought it was Santa Claus and she was right!

It was such a fun visit. Unfortunately the rides weren't running in the morning. We did take time for an ice-cream and Veeka and Hailee both asked if we could come back some afternoon when the rides are going. We'll have to see if the orphanage will allow us to take her next week Saturday or Sunday as the rides only run on the weekends.

Saying goodbye was hard today -- she had such a good time and so did we . . .

We headed to the Atrium after our visit and met up with the Nelsons and Nathan & Cynthia (adopting a 10 month old boy) and Erin & her new baby girl named Annika (one of the prettiest babies we've seen). We were quite a group making our way to the to the open market. We attracted a bit of attention. We saw a couple new areas. We visited the dairy building which had eggs and all types of cheese in it.

Shannyshell and Hailee found baby ducks & chicks -- we spent a lot of time admiring them. There were boxes & boxes of every kind of chick you could think of -- both girls had to hold them. The highlight of today's trip was the meat market - a building with every type of meat you could think -- a room for each. We saw beef tongues piled up just waiting for someone to buy, slabs of bacon, livers, sausages (not a clue what they were; looked pretty gross), pig hooves (do people actually eat those?) -- it was interesting to see how it's all cut up (they do it while you watch).

It was too hot to do much shopping so we headed to McJohns for a snack & soda. They have the best popcorn here -- carmel, cherry & raspberry all mixed together. We spent some time feeding the pigeons and sparrows and than trekked home.

Early visit again tomorrow ............

I too must first wish you HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LISA! Hope you have a great day. Can't wait for a big Komoll-Ollmann celebration!!!!

Such a wonderful visit. So glad you were able to take her to the park. You can see the joy in her face...I think she can't wait to be "YOURS" as much as you can't wait to be "HERS"! Your family picture looks wonderful. Just as it was meant to be.

Was glad to see that you get to have a visit on Sunday. Hope you have a special Mother's Day planned.

Hugs till tomorrow!
Linda

When I read this blog, I think my my jaw hit the floor...ONE OF THE CUTEST BABIES YOU HAVE SEEN?!?!?!? Not kidding, when we were reading Hayden took a big poop and I have to say I agree with him.

Anyway, glad the visit went well and hopefully the rides open up next week for you.

P.S. Hayden says he will try to be cuter next time.

Very true, I was the cutest baby ever.
